Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow
Yesterday,
I was not.
And so were
all my fears
all my worries
"things to fix"
and "things to attain."
Today,
I am.
And so are
all my fears
all my worries
"things to fix"
and "things to attain."
Tomorrow,
I will not be.
And so will be
all my fears
all my worries
"things to fix"
and "things to attain."
"Am I born to suffer?" I hollered
in the silence of my heart.
And just then,
a gust of wind came
mingled with my loose hair
and whispered to my ears
"You are born for this."
The sun prepared to leave
its rays rested softly on my eyelids
and wrote on them
"You are born for this."
The garden bloomed with flowers
gift-wrapped rich perfumes
sent them wafting through the air
and delivered a message to my lungs
"You are born for this."
I,
being I,
crammed the ears
covered the eyes
clogged the nose
with the cloth weaved from the fibers
of doubts and insecurities
and said
"I knew I was born to suffer."
