My Beloved's Magic

My Beloved's Magic

My beloved asked me to cry in his bosom

and I saw tears turning into pearls.

My beloved asked me to die in his arms

and I saw shroud turning into canopy.

My beloved asked me to heed to the pitter-patter of his heart

and I found it's a relief from the tick-tock of the clock.

My beloved asked me to jump off the cliff

and I found I have wings.

The world said

"Run for me, I will pay you,"

My beloved said,

"Love me, I will slay you,"

and I donned a red attire*.

The world said

"Live for me,"

My beloved said,

"Die for me,"

and I jumped into the burning pyre**.

*(red attire symbolizing love)

**(jumping into burning pyre symbolizing death)
